A Glimpse into the Future: Twitter Space with Evan Luthra and Menthol Protocol

April 4, 2023

The Menthol Protocol blog is thrilled to bring you a recap of our recent Twitter Space conversation with Evan Luthra, a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and advisor of Menthol Protocol. This insightful discussion, hosted by Amir from Menthol Protocol, covered a range of topics from the potential of the metaverse to the role of NFTs in tracking carbon credits.

Evan Luthra, a well-known figure in the tech and crypto space, kicked off the conversation by sharing his journey. He started as one of the first few hundred people to develop apps for the iPhone at the age of 13. By 17, he had built about 30 apps and sold his first set, making a couple of million dollars from that venture. He then started investing back into other technology companies, buying his first Bitcoin in 2014.

Evan's early investments in companies like Hedera Hashgraph and XRP Ripple, which are now top 20 coin market cap coins with tens of billions of dollars in market cap, are a testament to his foresight and understanding of the crypto space. Between 2016 and 2018, he invested in about 25 crypto companies, which made him realize the disruptive potential of this technology.

In the past few years, Evan has traveled to 25 countries, speaking at over 200 events about cryptocurrency, blockchain, and NFTs. He has written for top-tier media like Coin Telegraph, Cryptonomics, Entrepreneur, and Hacker Noon, pushing the crypto movement forward. Over the last three years, he has invested in over 300 different crypto projects, one of the best ones being Menthol Protocol.

Evan's belief in the potential of blockchain technology to address climate change is one of the reasons he supports Menthol Protocol. He is a big believer in climate change and has seen its impact during his travels.

The conversation also touched upon the upcoming launch of Menthol Protocol on the 22nd of April. The Menthol community is eagerly looking forward to this event, and with advisors like Evan Luthra, the future looks promising.

In the Twitter Space conversation, Evan shared his firsthand experiences of climate change, owning multiple beach houses around the world and witnessing the impact of seaweed and other nuisances. His concern for the environment is one of the reasons he supports Menthol Protocol, not just as an investor but also as an advisor. He believes in the potential of Web 3 to make a significant impact on climate change and sees Menthol Protocol as a solution to some of these problems.

The conversation then shifted to Menthol Protocol's vision of making Web 3 a climate-positive industry. The platform aims to make it easy for both B2B and B2C market players to engage in climate action, offset their carbon footprint, and participate in the emerging market.

One of the key tools in this endeavor is the carbon credit market. By tokenizing carbon credits and biodiversity credits, Menthol Protocol is making it easier for companies to engage in positive environmental action. This tokenization process is enriched with AI applications and big data, allowing for new verification of environmental assets.

Menthol Protocol's approach to tackling the climate crisis is two-fold. The first step involves calculating and tracking a company's carbon footprint with the aim of reducing it through new technologies, innovations, and processes. The second step involves calculating the unavoidable carbon footprint and compensating for it to achieve net-zero emissions. This approach is driving the carbon credit market, which was worth $7 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach $700 billion by 2050.

The conversation also touched upon the upcoming launch of Menthol Protocol on the 22nd of April. The platform has been in closed beta since the beginning of January, and the team is excited to roll out the product and explain how community members can engage with the "cool pool" and participate in the platform's activities.

The launch will be celebrated with a three-hour activation on the 22nd of April, preceded by a metaverse event on the 21st of April. The metaverse event will invite the community with different perks and NFTs, allowing them to have an early account on Menthol, which comes with an offset and an automatic tracking of the carbon footprint.

The Menthol Protocol team is excited about the journey ahead and is committed to making a positive impact on the world. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and insightful discussions from Menthol Protocol.

Evan shared his thoughts on the future of the metaverse and NFTs, stating that he believes they are the future. He envisions a world where everything from identification to the tracking and transfer of value will be done through NFTs. He sees NFTs as a solution to issues like double accounting in the carbon credits market, making them a valuable tool in the climate space.

Evan also discussed the shift of our attention from the physical world to the digital world. He noted that with the advent of computers, TVs, and iPhones, about fifty percent of our attention is now on the digital world. He believes that the metaverse represents a moment in time when our digital life matters more to us than our physical life.

Drawing from his early experience as a developer for apps for Google Glass, Evan sees the metaverse as an inevitable part of our future. He believes that as more of our lives move to the digital world, the metaverse will become as common as the internet is today.

Evan also touched on the opportunities that the metaverse opens up. He noted that work, identity, and assets are all becoming digital. He sees NFTs like Board Apes as the new Rolexes and Fortnite skins as the new skinny jeans. He believes that we are already living in the metaverse and that those who get involved early and learn to add value will be rewarded.

The conversation then returned to Menthol Protocol and how it can play an important role in representing environmental assets in the metaverse. It allows companies to represent their environmental efforts and enables the community to take part in decision-making processes.

The Menthol Protocol team is excited about the journey ahead and is committed to making a positive impact on the world. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and insightful discussions from Menthol Protocol.
